Class Descriptions

Advanced Brioche - Want to take your Brioche skills to the next level? Join Suzy in this Advanced Brioche class where you will learn how to increase and decrease in one and two color brioche, and learn how to tackle those projects with traveling stitches in brioche! Prerequisite: Basic Brioche

All About Gauge - Gauge swatches are essential to ensuring your knits fit correctly. But gauge is more than just knitting a square. Come learn all the essentials for knitting and measuring gauge swatches with Suzy Roy!

Arm Knitting - Yes, you read that right - Arm Knitting! Knit an infinity scarf in 30 minutes once you learn how to use your arms as knitting needles. These cowls are gorgeous gifts that you can finish in less than a day!

Basic Brioche - The Brioche stitch produces a thick, heavy fabric with a wide rib - perfect for cold weather accessories - however many knitters shy away from this seemingly complicated stitch. This class breaks down the steps involved and you'll be making your own brioche projects in no time!

Basic Dog Sweater - Learn how to knit a sweater that will fit your dog!

Cabled Dog Sweater - Come make a perfectly fitted cabled dog sweater for your favorite four-legged creature! You'll learn how to take appropriate measurements, how to cable and enjoy the company of fellow dog lovers!

Circular Knitting 3-Ways! - Knitting in the round is used for sleeves, sweaters, hats and more. And as many uses as there are for circular knitting, there are so many ways to knit in the round! Join Suzy as she teaches each method and helps you gain confidence with each.

Continental Knitting - Knitting for speed and efficiency! Beginner or not, this is an opportunity to add speed and consistency to your gauge. Continental style knitting (left-handed) is sometimes considered a more efficient method of knitting and many knitters find it less stressful on their hands than the traditional English (right-handed) "throwing" method. This class is perfect for "throwers" who've always wanted to learn continental knitting as well as for continental knitters, "pickers," who have struggled with the continental purl stitch. Join Suzy Roy on December 6th and master the knit and purl stitches using the continental method!

Double Knitting - Double knitting creates a reversible, two- layer, double-thick fabric. You work both sides of the fabric at once, with stitches from each side of the fabric alternating on the needles. Come learn this handy technique that you can use for all sorts of cold-weather accessories like scarves and hats.

Felted Pet Toys - Show your pet how much you love them by knitting them their very own toy! Learn increases, decreases and felting in this engaging 2-hour session with pet owner extraordinaire, Suzy!

Introduction to Lace Knitting - Many knitters find lace intimidating, but once you learn a few tips and tricks, you'll be on your way to knitting wonderfully delicate garments and accessories without fear! Suzy will break down the essential elements of lace in a fun, relaxed environment.

Knitting 101 - Have you always wanted to learn to knit? This class is a perfect intro to knitting, purling, casting on and binding off, all in an engaging 2-hour session. You'll be on your way to making your first project in no time!

Knits of the Round Table - Knit Locally class where students can drop by to receive help on any project!

Magic of Magic Loop - Magic Loop is a great alternative to using DPNs (double pointed needles) for doing small diameter circular knitting. It’s ideal for knitting socks or small sleeves. Many knitters who have problems with ladders (loose stitches between needles) switch to the Magic Loop technique and never look back. Join Suzy Roy and master the magic of Magic Loop!

Ravelry 101 - If you're a knitter or crocheter, you've likely heard of Ravelry and may have used it to look up yarns and patterns. But do you know all that Ravelry can do for you? Join Suzy (a librarian by training) as she shows you the ins and outs of Ravelry, which will make your knitting or crocheting experiences much more rewarding.

Safari -- WoolWinders Yarn Shop class. Safari Lites are our most popular classes! Pick any project you like and work in a group setting with an instructor over the course of a month. Safaris are a wonderful way to advance your skills and to make new friends. Basic knitting skills, including knitting and purling, are required.

2-Color Brioche - The Brioche stitch produces a wonderfully lofty fabric with tons of texture. Imagine adding a second color! Once you've learned the Brioche stitch, join Suzy as she takes you deeper into the world of Brioche - this time by adding a second color! Prerequisite: Basic Brioche

This design is spectacular! You certainly know how to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost...HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool! aol.com mail login sign
