Oh no Totoro!!

My first stab at fair isle is a fail.  Poor little Totoro mittens... they never had a chance.  Apparently you cannot tighten your tension as you carry the yarn over or else you get puckering.  And... a mitten that gets tighter and smaller as you knit up the hand.   

Ah well.  Frogging poor little Totoro and I'll try again later.
